Paal’s Camden home looks made for this historic gold rush district Robert and Marguarite’s colonial style Camden home fits nicely in the vicinity of the heritage town of Braidwood, between Canberra and Batemans Bay.

Robert and Marguarite already owned land when they inspected the products of a number of kit home companies. They chose the five-bedroom Camden from Paal Homes because they liked the design and also appreciated the thorough way it was made.
Robert, with a lifetime in the construction industry behind him, built much of their new home himself, with help from local contractors for the roof trusses and roofing, gyprocking, insulation and bricklaying.
Paal’s comprehensive after-sales service was a revelation. “Their people were very good, I couldn’t fault them. I would certainly buy from Paal again,” he said.
“It’s just beautiful to live in. People are quite taken with it,” Robert said.

As a colonial style home in a heritage-listed town, it is now a considerable asset for the family – an investment as well as a residence.
“People in Canberra with investments are looking for a place to retire to. The land we’ve built on has tripled in value over the past three or four years. In this context alone, our new home has worked out very well for us.”
