...and now. Paal's NSW premises. |
With justifiable pride, Paal Kit Homes can look back on four decades of helping Australians build their own homes.
Paal began in 1970 when proprietor Chris Nobis had an idea for a modular building system. The company initially operated from a disused dairy shed in Penrith in Sydney’s west, supplying garages and small holiday houses. Those early buildings gave way to bigger homes, then eventually to the broad range of sophisticated residences that now make up the Paal catalogue.
Back then, there was little inkling of the much larger demand that Paal would be responding to, with outlets in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, covering all of the eastern seaboard.
“Excellence in design was always Paal’s priority, combined with the flexibility to change the design at reasonable cost. We had to be able to supply exactly what the customer wanted,” Mr Nobis said.
“We also needed to provide a complete kit, down to the soap holders and tile grouting. People don’t want to discover what’s missing once they are on the job.”
All the way, Paal’s unique point of difference has been the steel-framed modular construction method that makes our homes so straightforward to assemble – together with comprehensive instructions and total customer support that ensure that homebuilders are never left on their own.
The company has been encouraged by the thousands of successful projects that Paal owner-builders have completed – and by the fact that they have collectively saved themselves millions of dollars in construction costs.
Paal has always kept up with the latest innovations in residential design, with many of these advances being incorporated into the company’s homes on a regular basis.
